Motion Sensor |
A
high-quality passive
infrared motion
sensor which
continuously
monitors the urinals
for use. The sensor
activation range can
be "fine tuned" to
ensure activation
only after urinal
use, eliminating
false flushes.
This sensor can be
surface mounted on
the wall, ceiling or
recessed
for increased vandal
resistance. |

Solenoid
Valve |
The UTC Sentinel utilizes a high quality solenoid
valve.
Its slow
activation
feature eliminates
water hammering.
Extra long
service life and low
maintenance are
features of
the
heavy-duty design
and construction.
The solenoid valves is installed in
the
main urinal supply
line for new
construction and
flush valve
retrofits or placed
in
the
tank for
the
old style urinal
tank retrofit
(1950's type).

Urinal Tank
Retrofits
Popular back in the
1950's, these
systems consisted of
a porcelain urinal
tank mounted high on
the wall or in the
chase. Piping from
the bottom of the
tank was then
installed and
connected to a bank
of urinals.
Typically the
urinals were flushed
every 20 minutes –
each hour - each day
- 365 days/year.
The cost of water
was inexpensive in
the 50’s but it
isn’t now.
The
water savings of a
urinal tank retrofit
with a UTC System
can be as much as
95%. |

Flush
Valve Retrofit
Transforms unflushed
fixtures into
reliable automatic
system based upon
urinal use. It is a
quick and easy
retrofit procedure
since the flush
valves bodies can be
left in place. Only
the diaphragm
assemblies are
removed. Eliminates
maintenance
associated with
flush valves.
Ensures urinals are
always flushed.
When
servicing a bank of
4 or more urinals,
the UTC System is
often less expensive
than a group of
individual sensor
type flush valves.
The ongoing
maintenance costs
are significantly
less as well.
Note: The
flush valve
retro-fit (shown
left) was installed
in this Columbus,
Ohio school in
January 1999. It
consists of a bank
of ten urinals being
controlled by (1) UTC System. During
the past nine (9)
years, the only
maintenance has been
the one time removal
of sediment from the
solenoid valve due
to a water main
break.

New Construction:
-
Eliminates the need
for any flush valves.
-
Allows for
the use of rear
inlet urinals (less
surface to
clean).
-
Multi-urinal flush
control makes UTC
the most economical
system available.
-
Designed for the
long-term,
fully automated, maintenance-free
performance.
-
Invisible
installation maximizes
vandal resistance
and customer
satisfaction.
Additional Benefit:
The
UTC System will
automatically flush
the urinals during a
period of inactivity
(normally every 24
hours). |
